What is the funniest thing that ever happened to you when you were on a secret shopping assignment? Once when I was assigned to be a mystery shopper at an oil changing business, they changed my oil and even gave me a free car wash. But when they pulled the car out front for me to leave, the car wouldn't start! I was stuck right there and couldn't go anywhere. They were very gracious and tried to help me jump start it. Nothing worked, and I ended up having to have the car towed. It didn't really seem very funny at the time, but later I thought, "Now what are the chances of my car breaking down in the parking lot of the place where I am doing my secret shopping assignment?" Of course, I rated this business high on service! They went out of the way to help me, even though they were busy. How about you, do you have a funny or strange experience from a secret shopping assignment? Did you ever get a coughing spasm when you tried to ask the retail associate your questions? Were you ever so nervous on your first job that you forgot what to look for when you walked in? Did you slip up and let the cashier see that you were recording your conversation on a digital recorder? Did you ever slip and fall down in the middle of the store?
